Surbiton Area Guide

A family favourite: with a fast commute, great schools and a thriving town centre this gem of a town is not to be missed.
The Property scene
One of the biggest advantages to Surbiton is the wide range of property there is available from modern, purpose built townhouses and early Victorian villas and cottages to art deco apartment blocks and Edwardian family homes.
For large, detached houses on quiet leafy streets, look south of the town centre in Southborough and Long Ditton. Closer to the centre you can find spacious Victorian conversions in St. Andrews Square, sleek apartments in Indigo Scott’s development, Indigo square in Brighton road and the river roads offer pretty Victorian cottages that are always popular.
Transport
Featured in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Agatha Christie's Poirot, Surbiton’s gleaming art deco station is more than just aesthetically pleasing - it provides a super quick commute into London Waterloo. 18 minutes to be exact. 10 minutes faster than that of its neighbours.
Surbiton is also included on the Crossrail 2 route so watch this space for even better connections should those plans go ahead.
By road, Surbiton is close to the A3 making it very accessible.
Eat, drink, do
Surbiton has so much to offer when it comes to lifestyle. For brunch lovers there are a plethora of independent coffee shops throughout the town centre and along Maple Road. There’s also plenty of vibrant, independent restaurants, gastro pubs and cocktail and wine bars lining the town streets.
Surbiton also has a varied sporting scene with fitness outlets such as F45, Alcheme wellbeing and Sweat Society offering group workouts, reformer pilates and yoga.
Schools
Surbiton and nearby Kingston upon Thames have top-performing state primary, comprehensive and grammar schools and private primary, preparatory and secondary schools including Shrewsbury House, Tiffin and Tiffin Girls, Surbiton High School, Kingston College and Rokeby to name a few.
On your doorstep
As well as enjoying a speedy connection to central London, Surbiton is well-connected with the market town of Kingston on its doorstep and Richmond, Thames Ditton and Teddington just a short drive away.
